Quick start

This page is the shortest route to a working result. If you just want the plugin running and plan to read the details later, start here.

Step 1 — Install the plugin

Download widgetcore.zip from the download page and upload it under “Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin” in the WordPress dashboard, then click Activate.

Step 2 — Find the widgets

Open a page or post with Elementor. In the widget panel you will see a category called WidgetCore Widgets containing the plugin's widgets:

Step 3 — Build your first FAQ

Drag the FAQ widget onto the canvas and open the “Questions” section, then the “Items” repeater:

1. Write the question title

   The “Question title” field is what visitors see and what ends up in the FAQPage schema.

2. Write the answer

   The “Answer” field uses the Elementor editor, so links and simple formatting are allowed.

3. Add more items

   Use “Add Item” to create more questions and drag them to reorder.

4. Choose the opening mode

   “Accordion” keeps only one item open; “Toggle” allows several items open at the same time.

The output is a list of cards that open with a click or with the keyboard, plus a FAQPage JSON-LD block printed on the same page.

Step 4 — Build your first live search

Drag the Live Search widget onto the canvas. The defaults already work:

Publish the page, click the field on the front end and type at least two characters — results appear without a page reload.

Step 5 — Search anywhere with the shortcode

To place a search field outside Elementor (in a theme template or inside content), use the shortcode:

Verify everything works

1. The widgets are visible in the editor

   If the “WidgetCore Widgets” category is missing, activate Elementor and hard-refresh the editor.

2. Search returns results

   In your browser's developer tools, the /wp-json/wgcr/v1/search request should return status 200.

3. Texts match your site language

   If the interface is Persian on an English site, see language and translation.

4. The FAQ schema is in the page source

   Search the page source for "@type":"FAQPage".
