Contributing

WidgetCore is an open source plugin under the GPL license, and it grows with help from its community. You do not have to be a programmer to contribute; precise, well-documented feedback is just as valuable.

Reporting a bug

Start with the troubleshooting page — many common problems are already solved there. If the problem remains:

• Open an issue in the plugin repository on GitHub: WidgetCore/Plugin.
• Include your WordPress, Elementor, PHP and plugin versions (all explained on the requirements page).
• Describe what you expected and what happened instead; if you can, list the steps that reproduce the problem.
• Keep one problem per report so it stays easy to track.

Suggesting improvements

Share ideas for new widgets, new controls or better documentation through the issue tracker. Before suggesting, check the FAQ and the widget guides — what you need may already exist and only needs to be found.

Documentation and translation

If you spot an error, a gap or a confusing sentence anywhere in these docs, report it. Fixing text and translating the documentation into other languages is one of the most valuable contributions, because it helps every user get the plugin right.

Contributing code

If you write PHP or JavaScript:

1. For anything beyond a small fix, open an issue first so we can agree on the scope.
2. Find the plugin repository on GitHub and send your proposed changes through it.
3. Keep changes small and focused, and keep new behavior in sync with the documentation.
4. The plugin is released under the GPL; contributions are released under the same license.

What not to report here

General how-to questions (for example "how do I add search to my page?") are answered throughout this site; the issue tracker is for concrete bug reports and proposals.
